Challenge: While an instructor writing on a whiteboard in a classroom might maintain engagement, a recorded video of an instructor's back turned can be quite sleep-inducing!
Solution: In response, I spearheaded a hardware innovation project aimed at developing an LED-illuminated glass, now commonly known as a lightboard. Inspired by a concept from MIT, our version was optimized for cost-effectiveness using aluminum, made portable with caster wheels for our studio, and designed to accommodate instructors of varying heights and standing ableness. The outcome greatly enhances both students' learning experiences and instructors' ability to deliver captivating lectures. We were honored to share our design with other institutions arccos the globe, and I continue to provide occasional consultation to other teams working on similar projects worldwide.
